Biography of Blackpearl Vee

Rabelani Vaidah Mugivhi, well known by her stage name 'Blackpearl Vee’ was born and raised in the northern part of South Africa, Limpopo Province at Ha-Mutsha, a village outside Thohoyandou. Her love for music manifested in her at a tender age of 3, she used to entertain villagers through her spontaneous dancing moves and courageous personality. In 2006, she became a learner at Saint Brendan’s Catholic Secondary School, where she joined the school choir and enrolled for guitar classes as part of her weekend activities. In her year of matric she was elected as the entertainment board representative, where she discharged responsibilities such as organising the weekend learner entertainment and was also involved in the supervision of evening studies in her allocated boarding section. Before she matriculated, she had formed a dancing crew named ‘’Blue dust”, and was later honoured with an award as the best entertainment board representative of the year 2010.

After matric, she went to Rosebank College in Pretoria where she pursued a career in Public Administration and completed her studies in 2015. Her qualification was conferred at a graduation ceremony in May of 2016. After completing her studies, she volunteered at a non-profit organization “Reakga Sechaba” where she recorded her first song titled “Reakga Sechaba” produced by Praise Malinga. During Reakga Sechaba launch where she performed in the presence of some prominent viewers such as actor Dos Molelee. She recorded her second song titled ‘Endless love’ f.t Tebza, Igwe and Huzzy in 2017, followed by a single house song titled “I feel like dancing” feat. Dj check produced by Dj love in 2018.

In November of 2018, “Blackpearl Vee” composed a song titled “Muthande” with a cover song produced by King Arnold and subsequently performed the song at her sister’s prestigious wedding ceremony as well as her house track “I feel like dancing”, a song that inspired a music video deal from Veestyle Pros studios. In December the same year, Blackpearl Vee recorded another house track titled “Crazy in love” produced by Kavirlbeatz, followed by a music video directed by Vusani Rathogwa from Veestyle Pros studios, which was released in January 2019. The song gained popular recognition on online radio stations and digital stores. Blackpearl Vee unleashed her musical potential when she entered the Thavhani Mall singing competition where she took 2nd position and walked away with a sum of R10 000.

In February 2018 Blackpearl Vee recorded another house song titled “Let’s just do this” which was complied with her other song title “Crazy in love” in a disc titled “Power of Love”. In March ‘Blackpearl Vee’ graced Hartebeerspoort dam with her musical performance in the North West Province where she shared the stage with radio Dj Miss P. “Blackpearl Vee” is currently working on her next house hit single titled “Music to My Ears” which will be release soon. She is also working on an album which will be released later this year. “Blackpearl Vee” recently signed to Director Maboko (Pty) Ltd with a publishing deal incorporated with Big Mani Entertainment to distribute, market, branding and managing.
